The plan for Checkers
Head-to-head board play with a venue ladder, timed matches, and a big-screen board for the table that draws a crowd.
Checkers gives a venue something a trivia night cannot: a reason for two regulars to come back next week and settle something. A ladder turns that into a season.
- Players
- 2 per match
- Typical length
- 10–20 minutes per match
Status today
Checkers is in development and no one can play it yet. This page describes what we are building it to do. We would rather show you the plan than promise a date we have not earned.
Planned for the first release
Going into the first release.
- Head-to-head on a shared tablet or on two phones
- Match clocks, so a ladder night finishes when the venue says it does
- Season ladder with standings on the venue’s player page
- Big-screen spectator board for the featured match
- Optional coaching mode for newcomers, off by default
Meanwhile
Trivio is the one you can run first.
Our trivia platform is the furthest along and is opening to a small group of venues now. It uses the same host console, the same join flow, and the same branding Checkers will use when it arrives, so a venue that starts with trivia is set up for the rest.
