The plan for Live Charades
Team charades run from the host’s tablet, with prompts on the performer’s phone, a countdown on the big screen, and scoring that keeps itself.
Charades is the easiest game in the world to start and the hardest to keep score of. The moment two tables disagree about whether a guess landed in time, the energy goes out of the room. Live Charades keeps the clock and the scoreboard honest so the host can work the crowd instead of refereeing.

Live Charades is in development and no one can play it yet. This page describes what we are building it to do. We would rather show you the plan than promise a date we have not earned.
Planned for the first release
Going into the first release.
- Prompts land on the performer’s phone alone, so no one shouts the answer by accident
- Pick the difficulty and category mix per round, with a house-safe filter for family nights
- Big-screen countdown, team standings, and a round recap between turns
- Host controls for a disputed guess, an extended timer, or a skipped prompt
- Prompt packs by decade, genre, and local theme

Our trivia platform is the furthest along and is opening to a small group of venues now. It uses the same host console, the same join flow, and the same branding Live Charades will use when it arrives, so a venue that starts with trivia is set up for the rest.
